Black Gap, Brewster Co., Texas – This area, located just to the east of Big Bend National Park in the Trans-Pecos region of Texas, is renown for a great variety of phenotypes, including both alterna and blair’s morphs, as well as animals with a distinctive “Black Gap look.” Check out our Black Gap gallery for a visual sampler. All are feeding on unscented pink mice. Photos of parents are available in the Alterna Gallery: female LA015 and male LA020. Specimens are coded as follows:  

Example: LA015-2010-01M 

LA = Lampropeltis alterna

015 = refers to the specimen number of the female parent

2010 = refers to the clutch year

01 = refers to specimen number within the clutch

F or M = refers to gender

Can't sell single females at this time.

Shipping: Our animals are shipped in insulated boxes (with heat or cold packs as necessary) via Priority Overnight using Fedex. Someone must be available to receive the package. Consider making your shipping dollars go farther by purchasing more than one animal; the shipping cost is the same whether you purchase one hatchling or a trio! 

Payment: We accept all major credit cards (through Paypal) as well as standard transfers using Paypal, as well as personal checks. We can also set up payment plans as needed, and will be happy to work with you—please ask.
